Lotus Engineering newsletter

Lotus Engineering, the division of Lotus Cars that does a lot of consulting work for other car companies, publishes a free newsletter every couple of months. The latest issue can be downloaded here, with a focus on vehicle chassis technologies and manufacturing.

Cooking for Engineers

When you’ve grown weary of sitting in front of the computer and your growling stomach leads you to the kitchen, you might want to check out the website Cooking for Engineers. As cooking sites go, it really is a nice one for engineers to read. One nice feature is the table at the end of the recipes that lays out the ingredients and tasks in a gant-chart-like timeline. Oh, and as far as TV goes, Good Eats is far and away the best cooking show for engineers!

Powerlok locking screws

taptie powerlok screwI came across some interesting self locking screws, the Taptite Powerlok fasteners. Designed for use in tapped holes, they use a trilobular profile and a special thread profile.
